The programme includes: physics, meteorology, basics of navigation, model-making, and daily sailing practice at sea. Campers will learn how to set a sail, read the wind, work as a crew, and explore the natural forces that move us forward. The grand finale? A full-scale regatta at St. Raphael Marina with every team on deck.
What Awaits Your Child? Each day is themed and includes theoretical insight, scientific experiments, model-building, hands-on sailing practice, and evening reflections to consolidate new skills.
Natural Forces and Scientific Laws Through experiments, wind observation, airflow modelling and the study of sail propulsion, children will nurture inquiry-based thinking, asking questions and testing how nature works — in real time. Safety at Sea Through games, sea missions and teamwork, participants learn how to stay safe and care for one another — building focus, self-reliance and confidence in unpredictable situations. Yacht Design and Steering By exploring boat structure, nautical vocabulary, knot-tying and hands-on sailing, children will develop spatial, technical and engineering thinking — as well as precision and coordination. Marine Navigation With maps, maritime markers, instruments and routes, campers learn to navigate at sea, make decisions, think logically, anticipate change and see the bigger picture.
Learning in the Field Daily sailing at St. Raphael Marina transforms into a real sea school, where children learn to read the wind, feel the yacht respond, and understand what it truly means to be part of a crew.
Final Project The camp culminates in a regatta. On the open water, campers will showcase their skills in yacht handling, weather awareness, teamwork and navigation. This hands-on experience builds confidence, puts knowledge into action, and lets each child feel like a real captain.
